THE REINDEER FILES: A Christmas Murder Mystery Party Kit
Montgomery Hale, reclusive toy magnate, is found dead at his own Winter Gala — and his private dossier on every guest, the Reindeer Files, is missing pages. Your guests are the suspects. Over three rounds of interrogation and evidence, they'll name the killer before the night ends.
FULLY SCRIPTED • NO ACTING EXPERIENCE NEEDED. If you can read aloud, you can host this.
WHAT'S INSIDE (60-page printable PDF, instant download): • Complete Host Guide with minute-by-minute timeline (2–2.5 hours) • 16 character packets (12 core + 4 bonus) — every role playable by any gender • 10 evidence cards from the Reindeer Files, released across 3 rounds • Question menu for beginners, accusation ballots, 6 award certificates • Printable + email invitations, detective notebooks, player roster • Sealed solution with full timeline — the host always knows the truth • "Host can play" timer-run variant included • Curated "Winter Gala" Spotify playlist link + QR code — scan at the party for instant mood music
PLAYS 8–16 (12 players is the sweet spot; the guide tells you exactly who to cut for smaller groups). Ages 14+.
WHAT BUYERS OF MYSTERY KITS ASK: "Is it confusing?" No — every packet tells each player exactly what to reveal, what to hide, and what to say. The question menu keeps interrogations moving. "Can the host play too?" Yes — the timer-run variant is in the guide. "Is it replayable?" Honestly: once you know the killer, you know. That's why 4 bonus characters are included — run it for a second group with a fresh cast. "How do I print it?" US Letter, regular paper. Cardstock for the evidence cards is a nice touch. Ink-friendly interiors.
OFFICE PARTY PLANNERS: this was built for you — workplace-safe (rivalries and secrets, no gore), gender-flexible casting, and a host guide that assumes you've never done this before.
